You will suffer, that's not up for debate but will your suffering be meaningful? Or will it be justified based on your evil actions?

Isaiah 42:24
Who gave up Jacob to the looter,
and Israel to the plunderers?
Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned, in whose ways they would not walk, and whose law they would not obey?
I love this passage because it sets you up to think that we are going to get that guy who gave us up to plunders and looters and then the twist is that guy is The Lord. If we sin and do not obey The Lord himself will allow our suffering. Don't be surprised if you ask why in the mist of your suffering only to hear back "Because I said so!"
